Macrophytes: A Temporary Sink for Microplastics in Transitional Water Systems
نویسندگان
چکیده
Marine macrophytes are hypothesized to be a major temporary sink for microplastics. In this study, microplastic contamination was investigated in 15 macroalgal species and one seagrass from different sites two lagoons of the northern Adriatic Sea: Goro lagoon Venice lagoon. A high percentage (94%) macrophyte samples contained microplastics, ranging 0.16 330 items g?1 fw, with prevalent size range 30–90 µm an average per unit fresh weight 14 fw. Microplastic displayed site-specific, rather than species-specific, pattern accumulation. addition, exopolysaccharides (EPS) significant positive correlation microplastics ononcontamination on acting as glue plastic particles available water column.

A review of microplastics measuring methods in water and wastewater bodies
Background and Objective: Recently, microplastics (MPs) have been found in the aquatic and terrestrial environments, air, and food. Other pollutants can be transported by MPs and pose a threat to the human, animal, and environment. Measurement and evaluation of microplastics can either increase knowledge about them or boost understanding of their possible harmful effects. However, no standard m...

channel estimation for mimo-ofdm systems
Surface oxidation: a major sink for water on Mars.
Surface oxidation irreversibly removes both oxygen and hydrogen from the martian atmosphere at a rate of 10(8) to 10(11) per square centimeter per second. This rate corresponds to a net loss of 10(25) to 10(28) per square centimeter (10(2) to 10(5) grams per square centimeter) of H(2)O, if it is assumed that the loss rate is uniform over geologic time. Heretofore, exospheric escape was consider...
